Tubes!

Elizabeth's surgery went great this morning. We were in and out in no time at all. The ENT doctor said that Elizabeth's ear infection had cleared, but there was a bit of fluid left behind in both ears, so she was able to drain it before placing the tubes.

Elizabeth has been very out of sorts since the tubes went in- very cranky and tired. She is taking her second nap of the day and we're hoping she will feel better after she wakes up. Ear ears are draining blood from the incisions the doctor made, but that should be gone within a few days. We have to give her antibiotic ear drops for the next seven days. After that, she should be good to go!

ENT Appointment

We had an appointment with the ENT today. Here is a picture of Elizabeth in the waiting room.

Long story short...okay, I cannot do a long story short. Elizabeth's ears have not cleared from the last round of infections. Her right is still infected, left is full of fluid. This makes 7 infections in the past year. The poor girl! The ENT has changed her antibiotics and recommended tubes. We will go for the outpatient surgery on April 27. General anesthesia is required but Elizabeth should be fine within a few hours of the procedure. We have faith that this will help her to finally feel better.

First Professional Haircut

Elizabeth has had a busy week. On Tuesday she had to go to the doctor (again) because her ears are infected (again). They've finally referred us to an ENT and we have an appointment April 19...Today Elizabeth got her very first professional haircut (the one I gave her back in November doesn't count!) She was a very good girl but got a little impatient at the end. Now her bangs are out of her eyes and her mullet has been trimmed into a cute bob.
